The DT30 takes in some of the most picturesque views in the Dales, it’s a pity that a few had to run up to them! Tony Lambert was the first harrier across the finish line in 6th and the 2nd V40 (2:36:56), closely followed by Julian Simpson in an excellent run in 7th (2:43:07, 3rd V40), Ken Harker in his first proper trail race was a very good 13th (2:50:08, 5th V40), trails specialist Lee Davies in 17th (2:53:15, 6th V40), Steve Sadler in 40th (3:14:01), Rachel Ross-Russell was a superb 53rd and the top V40 lady (3:21:57), Simon Withers in 63rd (3:24: 26), Shaun Purkiss-McEndoo in 93rd (3:40:22), Katie Purkiss-McEndoo in 253rd (5:11:45).

Our own Iron Man was in Bolton to race with the worlds best over a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, ending in a full marathon (26.2 miles) and finishing in a fantastic time of 13:46:57 in 968th congratulations Ryan Greer!

Ronnie Corbett and Lucy Goundry took the trip up to Scotland for Eglinton parkrun and were rewarded with some great runs. Ronnie Finished 3rd (19:57) and Lucy finished in 19th place and the 3rd lady runner (23:20). Shona Fletcher turned parkrun tourist this week and ran at the Ashton Court parkrun in Bristol. She finished in a very credible 23rd on what wouldn’t be described as a flat course and the 4th woman, beaten by the 3 times World Ironman ladies champion – Chrissie Wellington and 2012 GB Olympian marathon runner – Claire Hallisey!

Rumours that Mark Fletcher has taken to training in Iceland due to the heat are untrue, it actually is the back of a refrigerated lorry from Iceland!
